Artist Statement
Nidia is a Colombian-born contemporary artist who lives in Perth, Western Australia. In her paintings she uses acrylics and mixed media inspired by her interest in metaphysics, life patterns and underwater life.
Her works reveal a passion and talent for the use of bold colors and compositions for non-representational or figurative art. With her nature-based style, she also uses organic materials to create unique works with a mystical air.
Nidia recently won the 2008 City of Swan – “Judges Choice” Category with her painting entitled: Flowing Across (pic left).
